DrumPhest FAQ

When is DrumPhest?

Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm. Doors open at 10:00 am - get there early!

If you're selling an item in the DrumPhest Marketplace, you can check in at 9:30 am.

 

What drummers are playing?

TBA! Last year, we had Jojo Mayer, Lil John Roberts, Mark Guiliana, Jason Gianni, Pablo Batista, and Tre Lambert.

 

How much are tickets?

$25 in advance, $35 at the door, $15 for members and groups.

 

Where can I find a poster image to distribute?

Why does the home page say that tickets start at $15?

Supporing Members of Philly Drum Project get a special discount for DrumPhest tickets. We depend on these members to fund our educational programming each year, and in return, we thank them by offering ticket deals like this, exclusive clinics like the one we had with Stanton Moore on 3/26, etc.  To become a Supporting Member, visit http://www.phillydrumproject.com/support and give a gift of $20-$50 to support PDP.

Who profits from DrumPhest?

Philly Drum Project is a not-for-profit project of CultureTrust of Philadelphia. Any proceeds from ticket sales, gear commissions, food sales, t-shirt sales, etc will go directly toward Philly Drum Project's free educational programming such as DrumPhil and Re-Drum, so when you buy a ticket to DrumPhest, you're also supporting a great cause: the accessiblity of music education in Philadelphia!

 

Where is DrumPhest being held and how do I get there? 

In the Gershman Y building on the campus of The University of the Arts.

If travelling by Septa:

Regional Rail, Trolley or Market Frankford Line lines to 15th Street/Suburban Station (City Hall). Transfer to Broad Street Line South exit at South and Lombard Street exit. 

 

There's also a sweet ride-share app called Uber. If you haven't used it before, you can get a free ride (up to $20) with the code: "uberphillydrum"

 

Where do I park?

 There a number of parking garages on Broad St. with daily rates. Street parking is also available in center city at 2-3 hour increments.

 

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket allows access to the Main Stage, the Expo, and (if you've registered ahead of time) the Chapel for Special Sessions.

 

What are Special Sessions?

Special Sessions are intimate, exclusive workshops with an attendance capacity of 50 people. Last year we offered an OpenDrum Philly Jam with Tre Lambert and a Beats, Brews, & Banter event with Claude Coleman, Jr. Check back soon to see more details!

 

How can I register for a Special Session?

What do you mean by "Expo?"

The DrumPhest Expo will contain vendor tables, sponsor tables, product demos, giveaways, games, information, merchandise, and the Marketplace - where guests can buy and sell drum gear.

 

Can I sell gear at the Expo?

Yes! The DrumPhest Marketplace is specifically meant for you to sell your gear. You don't pay anything unless it sells (we take 20% commission, capped at $100). Go here to register your item (up to three items). 

 

I am buying tickets for someone else. Do I need to be present when picking them up at Will Call?

You'll want to select the print-at-home or mobile ticket option when buying your ticket. If you choose Will Call, you must show ID to gain entry. 

 

Are tickets available at the door?

Maybe....if so, they're 10 bucks more expensive, so just buy them ahead of time, ok?

 

I bought tickets, but now I can’t make the event. Can I get a refund?

Sorry, no refunds for DrumPhest.

 

Is the event all-ages?

Yes, but all minors should be accompanied by an adult.  

 

Is food available on site?

Yes! We'll have pizza, snacks, drinks, and more. We wouldn't want you to have to leave the venue and miss anything...

 

How can I get a vendor table and/or sponsor the event?

Do you need volunteers?

Maybe! Contact us for information!

 

Are there group discounts?

Yes. Email us about your school, church, or community group!

 

Who is running this event and what else do they do?

Philly Drum Project, a member-supported Percussive Collective dedicated to making drumming more accessible in the Philadelphia area by helping drummers in our region share Gear, Lessons, and Beats.  Philly Drum Project also hosts DrumPhil - a one-day drumset workshop for high school students, Rhythm Sessions - a 10-week community drumset workshop, Beats, Brews, & Banter, a monthly networking/workshop event for adults, and occasional ticketed clinics including recent ones with Brian Frasier Moore and Stanton Moore. The University of the Arts is the lead sponsor of DrumPhest because they believe in the mission of Philly Drum Project. You can become a member of Philly Drum Project for FREE here.
